Dan Phillips

We first met Dan when he and his wife came to the gallery. We had similar interests and thus blossomed a friendship.

It was when we were helping Dan and Shannon pack up for a move to Austin that I first saw one of Dan's girl drawings. It rocked my world and he was gracious enough to pass the drawing on to me.

After that I kept up with Dan's drawings and we began to show them here in the gallery. His drawings are so detailed in their clothes and hair. Dan obviously loves a good do. The girls also possess a sly sassy look that makes you look at them and the way they cut their eyes away daring you to stare.

He never ceases to amaze me in his ideas. Dan continues to draw the girls and started painting this last year as well.
In addition to his drawings he is a great wood craftsman and has done some other wood pieces for the gallery too, like his guns and the great cigarette packs.

In between all of the wood work, drawing, and painting, Dan continues to play and create music which he has done for most of his life. Slowride is his long standing band, in addition to his solo projects.

This year Dan finishes up his primo wood working school in Boston where he has learned all kinds of furniture making. No telling what is upcoming for the ever producing skillful and talented Dan.
