Dan Phillips has earned the nickname “Dallas Dan”.
It’s his hometown and although his music and art have taken him all over, he returns to the comforts of his home and studio in East Dallas.

Dan studied furniture making at the North Bennet Street School in Boston and spends a huge portion of his time designing and crafting furniture using techniques of yesteryears.
In addition to his furniture making, Dan enjoys his family, plays music, tours with his band True Widow, draws, paints, refines and defines his various interests, all bound with a common aesthetic in beauty and art in life.

We met Dan some twenty years back and received a treasured gift drawing of one of his early “Girls” . The girls are always distinguished in their fanciful hair styles and patterned garments. They are a reccuring subject for Dan, along with whales and cemetery landscapes.

We have had the wonderful opportunity to show his work a number of times over the years and this current exhibit is a great way to close out our year with the comforts of Dallas, friendship, and loved subjects always with a newness in flair.
