This is Venzel Zastoupil with his creation
and our roadside attraction.

We met Venzel Zastoupil years back when we saw an article about his in the Dallas Paper. He had built many mechanical pieces from toothpicks which he had in his living room. We called Mr Zastoupil and went to see him and his creations. He was the nicest man. He had a menagerie of pieces in the center of his living room. The took up the biggest part of the room and he had them fenced off to seperate them and keep his cute boston terrier out.

We remained friends many years and Mr. Zastoupil was always kind to let us visit and bring others to see his amazing pieces. We would call him a few days before our visit so that he could oi or repairl all of the sewing machine motors he ran the pieces with and get all of the christmas lights that he framed the collection burning.

It was always and amazing site and Mr Zastoupil was not only talented, but one of the friendlest and kindest men.

As he aged, he and his family wondered what would become of his pieces and asked us if we knew of a museum which would display is his pieces. We could not think of any museum we could guarantee would display his creations; so we offered to display his pieces ourselves at our gallery. At that time we did not know where we would even put them, but we treasured Mr. Zastoupil and his work.

As we were set to go pick everything up, it dawned on us it would just fit in the front window. So, there is resides to be seen and enjoyed inside or out at all times.

Mr. Zastoupil never got to see his pieces in place, but one of his daughters said he had dreamt of the pieces in a store window. So, we guess he would approve of the joy they give us and every visitor to the gallery window.
