Randy “Biscuit Turner (1949 – 2005) born in Gladewater, Texas and his business card read “musician, artist, poet, and theatre producer.

He spent a lifetime working at all these trades separately and with each of them spilling over into the other.
Biscuit was probably best known for his lead man role in the legendary Austin, Texas punk rock band the Big Boys; the first band to merge funk with the driving rhythms of punk rock through an avid love of skateboarding.
The Big Boys played fun driving shows with Biscuit in all form of costumes while exhibiting his theatrical flair. They played solo shows across the country and opened for many bands like other Texas punk rock bands such as the Dicks to famous bands like X, the Misfits and the Go-Go’s.
Following the Big Boys fame, Biscuit was part of bands Cargo Cult, Texas Biscuit Bombs, Naugahyde Dream Sequence, and Swine King.
With music always in the forefront, Randy Turner also made dioramas of found objects and had quite the psychedelic cosmic yard show still recalled by many in Austin.
Towards the end of his life and following his passing, there were a number of shows of his dioramas where many a fan was lucky to own a piece of Biscuit and his creative art world.

At the end of his early reign, Biscuit left his carefully cataloged and treasured original flyers to his childhood friend in East Texas.

”We were teenagers during the years of Big Boy fame and saw their fun shows many times over in their youth.
They were an inspiration for how we see life and art each day.
Fun, joyful, pure self-expression, no rules or guidelines to how things must be and just lead by making it your own were our lessons learned and what we still look for in artwork.”

We were thrilled beyond words to be approached earlier this year with notebooks filled with Randy Biscuit Turner’s original flyer artwork which he had carefully kept in notebooks.

These pieces in addition to handfuls of treasured art pieces and a book we published with the flyer artwork will be on exhibit and available
Sunday, October 19th 1-4pm in our Waxahachie gallery.
All available artwork will be online on Monday October 20th at noon.
